Great place to live, if you can afford it.

I've really enjoyed living here. I like my apartment; it's spacious and beautiful. The landscaping is very nice as well. The trash pickup service is a lifesaver. I feel safe most of the time; the security alarm in my apartment helps me feel very secure. I worry more about car vandalism and theft as there have been several incidents of raids on the parking garage since I've been here.
Other cons to this complex include a rickety parking garage with support pylons that will ding your car if you don't turn into a space correctly and people making lots of noise when they are in the garage -- booming radios, car alarms going off, a few drunken partiers on weekend nights.
What remains to be seen is whether this place goes downhill when they tear down the Allen House apartments across the street in September 2007 to start work on a major redevelopment. I don't relish the idea of living in a construction zone.
Given all this, I am really unhappy with the large rent increases that are being proposed right now. If I have to pay $1300 a month, why not just buy a townhome and stop paying rent' For that price I'm not sure this place is worth the money, enjoyable as it has been to live here.
