I've never felt so embarrassed after applying to live somewhere. They treated me like I was worthless (management, not the office employees). I will always remember this place as pretentious and unfair (NOT the employees). I've been a good resident at every complex I've ever lived in. I don't have parties, I don't complain and I'm never late on rent. So why didn't they want me'
I was laid off recently, so my father is helping me get by until I get back on my feet. He was ready to cosign for me, but they turned me away. He has plenty of money, but they will only allow cosigners for kids going to school. I'm subbing and attending classes to get my teaching certification, but they told me that wasn't enough. I honestly thought that as long as I could show that I was able to pay rent every month, that was enough. I had money in hand, and was ready to sign a lease knowing I could afford it.
I did send an email to management a week ago. I asked them what would happen if a tenant was to lose his/her job before their lease contract was up. Would they evict them, even if they were able to continue paying rent' They never responded.
My roommate is also a teacher. We have found a nice place nearby that was happy to let my father vouch for me. We were sad to have experienced this, but in the end we found a great apartment at a very nice complex in the same area.
P.S. This thing isn't showing question marks when I review it on my computer, but they're there. I'm a stickler about grammar. Sorry.
