Such a Disappointment

We moved into this complex because it was brand new, affordable and off of the highway.
Moving in was not too bad since the staff seemed very friendly.... at first. But as soon as we got moved and somewhat settled, the attitudes changed. It took forever to get things done and the management was difficult to get a hold of and the staff was unprofessional. We turned in our inspection sheet and it took them almost 4 months to complete. Hard to believe that there should have been anything to fix since we were the first to live in the apartment.
The walls/floors are super-thin. You can hear what you're neighbors are doing 24/7.
It is a gated community, which is a good thing. But not when the gates are broken almost all the time. It will get fixed by the time we leave for work, and will be broken by the time we get back.
Several months ago, we started seeing mold appear in the bathroom. Something I had never seen before, even in an old home. There had always been a roach and spider problem since we moved in. And I've started to see more and more spiders and roaches appear.
Parking isn't bad since the complex isn't fully occupied. But there is an annoying vehicle outside who seems to think that he needs to park his car across 3 parking spots.
Lawn maintenance seems to be done when they notice the grass is coming up to their knees. Broken glass, beer bottles and trash are everywhere. It can be pretty dangerous to drive your car or even walk on the sidewalks.
Speaking of sidewalks, there seems to be a lack of sidewalks. There is a walkway to get the actual apartments, but if you park, you must go around cars or walk through grass. If a handicap person does move in anytime soon, they will have to off-road their wheel chair into the grass since the handicap parking doesn't even go onto a sidewalk.
The "Beach Style Pool" looks like a dirty lake. A brand new pool should not have cloudy water. And probably about 90% of the time, it is closed for maintenance anyway. We were told that they were putting in "Cancun Style Palapas." Well, they finally put them in, but... they sure don't make us feel like we're in Cancun. They placed the palapas on concrete blocks that they must have gotten from Home Depot. Be careful because you might fall in between the concrete blocks and kick the whole platform out of place or hurt yourself pretty badly.
Their "Game Room" consists of one of those $250 2 in 1 air hockey/billiard tables things that you can flip to play one of the two games. Surprisingly, the clubhouse area is actually kept up pretty nice.
It is just such a disappointment to move into a brand new complex where no one seems to care about it. I wouldn't recommend anyone to move into Settler's Ranch. It's not worth the trouble.
