Stay away at all costs unless you like roaches

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I moved here from NY. So I never got a chance to see the place before I sent the deposit. If I had I would have run. The day I moved in I saw roaches coming out of the garbage disposal. I had no money to move since I just graduated from college. So I stayed, my father told me what to use to get rid of the roaches but I still had to live with them for two weeks, needless to say I was terrified to go in my kitchen.
My guests could never find anywhere to park. My neighbors' visitors would sometimes park in my spot leaving me no where to park.
I was sometimes afraid to come home by myself late on Friday nights because the five sometimes six men living in the apartment next to me would drink on Friday nights and invite their friends over and get roudy. The five sometimes six men would use my side of the porch as if it were theirs, however there wasn't much I could say because it was five sometimes six adult men, one adult female and one female child against one. If I had complained to management I feared it would only get worse for management could not protect me every Friday night.
The office people were nice. Probably because the only time I saw them was when I was handing them money. I paid my rent on time for 12 months, and technically I left the apartment cleaner then the way I met it (roach free). I received my deposit back very quickly.
Maintenance was ok. Although one time when there was a problem with my freezer they took all the food out and left it in the sink for hours. Needless to say I was very upset. But this was right after I had rid the apartment of all the roaches and just began to use my kitchen, so there wasn't too much in the freezer.
The apartment hired someone to fix the foundation and they dug huge holes along side my building and left them there for weeks. It rained and the holes became breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Once they finally filled the holes they did a very poor job. The landscaping along the foundation looked horrible for the remainder of my stay at Skylar Pointe.
The rent was very cheap for a two bedroom and that was what atracted me. If all you are looking for is cheap rent then you can't really complain about what you have to put up with. I learned my lesson; cheap shouldn't always be your number one priority.
