Just wanted to let all you Skylar Pointe residents know that one of the maintenance guys has sex with women in vacant apts. here. It is a fact when you hear the women yelling at him because he can't produce the money he promised them. He is spooky. Watches little girls and women all the time. He is married and I wonder what his wife would say. He is a resident of the apt. complex too. That is scary.

Boy did you blow things out of porportion!!! A guy that got shot in the face lol...you're funny... Vechiles on fire??? When??? lol.... I have been here several years and i have not heard of such things! By the way, you can check Houston PD website for crime stats and you won't find such silly nonsense here. It's a great place to live. I love it here and its not ghetto. If you think this place is ghetto try going to 3rd ward or to the other parts of houston. THATS GHETTO AND UNSAFE NOT SKYLAR POINTE! Just for the heck of it I will gladly print off a crime stat report and post it near the mail boxes just to prove all of you wrong that skylar pointe is a great place to live!

Actually someone did set fire to one of the dumpsters right next to the apartment we lived in. There was a crime notice a few months back from the office stating that a person had illegally entered an aparment at Skylar Pointe at 4:00am and had not been apprehended. Made me feel really safe. There were also about 2-3 other notices that we received in the year that we lived there about cars being stolen/vandalized. I didn't feel safe walking in the parking lot or on sidewalks late at night. Of course these things can happen anywhere you live but they seem to be a bit commonplace at good old Skylar Pointe. We PAID to break our lease so that we could find a better place to live. We also kept our apartment clean and still had ROACHES even after the exterminator came!!!

I cannot attest to the man who was shot, but I can attest to 2 dumpster fires near Bldg 42 in the last year or so. I believe they were most probably caused by charcoal briquets after a neighbor used a grill and dumped the briquets in the dumpster. I base this speculation on observation. I know there have been a few cars vandalized or broken into. In 2000, there was a murder in the apartment near the exit gate, but I have not heard about anything that bad since. I don't feel safe walking from my car to my apartment at night, especially since the parking is crowded, and I sometimes have to park far from my apartment because there does not seem to be enough parking. No problem with bugs lately, but we did have racoons nesting above our ceiling last spring. They are gone now. I don't know if they left of their own accord. I don't think the leasing office is not very picky about who they allow to rent here. My rent did not go up for awhile, but now it is. I don't want to renew, but there is no way I can move right now. There is some benefit to dealing with lazy staff. They are not always lazy; sometimes they are responsive. When our air conditioner failed, they replaced right away, on a Saturday. They pretty much leave you alone if you don't cause trouble. When I complained about noisy neigbors, they contacted them for me and dealt with it.

I live here now, and yeah this place is GETTO! And of course it's not as bad as 3rd ward, but we aren't living in downtown Houston either it's freaking Clear Lake for God's sake! The only way you can really fit in here is if you just ran from the boarder. Barely anyone living here speaks English. I have had many crime reports on my door, and my boyfriends car was broken into. I get sexually harassed trying to walk my dog, or just trying to get the mail. The sewage has over flowed so many times I have lost count, and it's right next to my covered parking spot (where other people park often) so I have to walk through raw sewage to get into my car. I'm talking about t.p. chunks and turds right there, and stuck all over my car wheels. I LOVE IT HERE!!!

oh and the one that commented about you will not find any crime stats on the Houston Police Dept website is really funny since this apt complex is in Webster...
