IM NOT YET A RESIDENT, BUT I'M MOVING IN SOON AND I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE I SIGNED THE LEASE AND THEY SPOOKED ME. SO WHAT I DID WAS GO TOUR THE PROPERTY LATE ONE SATURDAY NIGHT AND TO MY SURPRISE I SAW NONE OF THE THINGS THAT WERE STATED. I SEEN A NICE QUIET COMPLEX, WITH NO ONE OUTSIDE AND NOT TO MENTION HOW HARD IT WAS TO EVEN ENTER IN THE GATES! I BELEIVE MY STAY WILL BE A VERY GOOD AND SAFE AFTERALL MY FEARS HAVE BEEN PUT TO REST. I'M SURE MAINTENANCE ISSUSES AND THINGS HERE AND THERE MAY OCCUR, BUT THATS AT ANY PROPERTY. I'M VERY GLAD OF THE CHOICE I MADE TO SIGN AND AGREE TO MOVE IN. IF IM WRONG TIME WILL HAVE TO PROVE ITS SELF TO ME BUT FOR NOW IM HAPPY AND ONLY FOCUSING ON THE POSITIVE. ALSO THE OFFICE STAFF WAS VERY WARM AND MADE ME FEEL WELCOMED, I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THAT "SINCERE" FEELING IN ALL MY TIME AS AN APARTMENT RENTER. NOT TO MENTION HOW HELPFUL, CARING AND INFORMATIVE THE LEASING AGENT WAS TO ME, YOU CAN TELL THE STAFF REALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY. I WOULD ENCOURAGE ANY PERSPECTIVE RENTERS TO CHECK OUT THE STEEPLES FOR THEMSELVES.

wow, you see i felt the same way to until i moved in there. i have been there for 8 months and have spoke to people who were robbed less than a month ago

Wouldn't it make sense if this were the apartment management? I happen to know they're pretty upset about all the negative publicity they've been getting. The current manager is very warm and "sincere"... until you need something or you ask her to follow through on a promise she made. I wouldn't recommend hanging out at the steeples by yourself at night again. Sounds like you got lucky. Next time you'll probably get mugged or raped... both happen here. Enjoy your stay at this ghetto. If you really are a future tenant, you'll change your tune in about 30 days, if not sooner.

This post smells a bit fishy if you ask me. As a FORMER resident, I know this is bs, and I moved out before things got really bad. I know people who still live there, and by all accounts, it's definitely more hood than neighborhood. I hope things go better for you, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm about to move to Houston for a new job and after reading most of the reviews for Houston area apartments, I might as well stay here in Chicago. Is Houston that bad folks? Just about every apartment around my job is said to have thugs, car jackings, roaches, water leaks ect.

THE STEEPLES WAS THE FIRST APT I MOVED TO WHEN MOVING TO HOUSTON I DIDNT KNOW BETTER I WAS A NEWBIE TO HOUSTON.....THINGS STARTED OUT BAD THE APT WAS INFESTED WITH ROACHES.......WHEN I CALLED THE OFFICE THEY ACTED AS IF I BROUGHT THEM WITH ME KNOWING IM A CLEAN PERSON, AND THE WHOLE BUILDING WAS-PER MY GHETTO NEIGHBORS. ANYWAY I PAID FOR COVERED PARKING WHERE I COULD OPEN MY FRONT DOOR TO THE HOODED COMPLEX AND SEE MY CAR. WELL SOMEONE ATTEMPTED TO STEAL MY VECHICLE LUCKIY MY NEIGHBOR WAS OUT AT 445AM LETTING HIS DOG OUT AND SEEN THE CRIME TAKING PLACE AND RAN THE GUYS OFF!!!! BUT THE OFFICE ACTED LIKE NO BIG DEAL, I WOULD GO IN THE OFFICE TO COMPLAIN ONLY TO HEAR RESIDENTS COMPLAING OF PURSE SNATCHING, CARS BEENING BROKEN INTO ETC.......I COULD GO ON AND ON I JUST REALLY THANK GOD I OUT OF THERE AND JUST YESTERDAY I HEARD A GIRL WAS RAPED AND HER BOYFRIEND ROBBED AND KILLED!!!!! YES THE STEEPLES AND THEY STILL HAVENT NOTIFIED RESIDENTS OF THIS. HOW I KNOW MY BEST FRIEND LIVES THERE AND IS MOVING NEXT MONTH WHEN HER LEASE IS UP!!!!! NOT TO MENTION THE APTS ON THE SIDE OF THEM. OMG NOT TO MENTION CRESENT PARK DOWN THE STREET!! WELCOME TO THE HOOD....
