I loved loved loved this place when I first moved in under previous ownership and management. They were awesome and friendly, and if you were not a problem tenant and paid your rent on time, they would even renew your lease AT A DISCOUNT AND NEVER RAISED YOUR RENT! The location is very convenient to most Houston highways and to downtown. THEN new owners took over and outed the entire management team and office staff and the new people SUCK! They don't know anything about anything, they tell you one thing over the phone and another when you show up in person. The girl who answers the phone is completely clueless and makes up answers when she doesn't know the actual truth. The manager completely lacks any customer service skills and could care less if all the long time tenants left in the masses. They are raising everyone's rents across the board. They couldn't pay me to stay here! A few months ago someone was murdered in the parking lot! I tried to ask about it, but no one would give any details. Parking is awful. There are never enough parking spaces, a lot of the problem is guests parking in non-guest spaces, so people end up parking next to fire lanes and in front of fire hydrants, which frankly ticks me off. I work late hours so I had to buy a parking garage (there are only a few) to ensure I had a place to park on this hemisphere when I get home from working a late night. If you aren't home by 530 chances are you are going to have to hike to get to your apartment. If they pick up the rent payments a minute before you drop your payment off, they will charge you an automatic late fee of $50 plus $5 each day after that no exceptions. If you are out of town a lot and need to mail in your payment, they are also equally inflexible to when you mail the payment even if they should have gotten it on time. They changed the old hours of 8 or 8:30 AM to open at 9 AM when most of us have to be at work already, and they obstructed the night payment dropoff slot so now you can't get to it after hours. Unlike these lazy SOBs, I have to actually be at work at a decent hour and I'm not home before they close at 6, so I'm just very glad I'm moving out. These people are awful and just getting worse. The only positive thing I can say is they have kept the same maintenance staff, and those are the best people I have met. They are so kind, helpful, honest, and sincerely care about doing things the right way the first time. To get people in the office to do anything, I have to submit a written request practically threatening legal action if they do not comply with my request in a timely manner. It is absolutely ridiculous and I have dealt with less apathy to customer service at fast food restaurants staffed by high school kids! I recommend to anyone thinking about moving here to rethink their options. Not to mention new construction is severely putting a damper on getting in and out of the complex on top of the rocks and dust that are constantly outside the gate and dirty up your car.
