Yo!

Management doesn't care about the tenants here once you sign the lease.

I have lived here for over one year. I love living in the Heights, even though crime is increasing due to gang violence in this neighborhood. There are a lot of nice shops and restaurants here. However, the apartment management sold this complex to me as a "safe haven". They lied.

I am afraid to park in the garage because of all the break-ins and you have to pay $35-$50 per parking spot, in addition to your rent, if you want to park in the parking lot, which is also scary and unlit. However, at least if you get a spot in the lot you don't have to walk from the scary garage to your house, through an unlit parking lot, if you get home at night. There are NO spots right now, by the way. So good luck with that.

There are always strange or homeless people walking in through the un-monitored gates and there have been burglaries in the last year. I am only sure of two, but the apartment complex doesn't tell us. You just have to ask other tenants.

Instead of hiring a guard at the gate they hired a service that tours the parking lot twice a night. It's not helping. The police were here for an apartment burglary and told us that they believe the neighboring complex with is, shall we say, LESS selective about their tenants, are probably watching people come and go so they can break in to your home when you are gone.

The carpeting in my apartment sheds is AWFULLY, I think it is the cheapest carpet I have ever had to deal with.

The AC units and appliances are inefficient. I keep my apartment at 72 and my utility bill is around $200 or more each month. Even in the winter. I can't decide if it's because the windows are single paned and drafty, or maybe the fridge is an energy hog. Perhaps the washer and dryer' Not sure. It's all the *cheapest* model though, you can be sure of that. When I complained they send over the maintenance guy, who replace my thermostat. Twice. Um...I don't think that is the problem.

My apartment has flooded because they refuse to change the AC filters regularly.
I had mold growing in the wall where it leaked.

There are ROACHES living in the duct work -- I believe they are crawling up through the AC unit drain. I have complained to their pet control people, but there is no one else to complain to and I am sick of listening to their voice mail at the office.
I am a bit of a neat freak, and I can tel you it is disconcerting to see a roach crawl out of your AC duct.

The pool is only 5 feet deep at the deepest part. !!'''

They will sign for packages for you, but you won't be able to pick them up for days because the office is ALWAYS CLOSED!!! They are always either "showing an apartment" or gone. It sucks. I am about to ask them to STOP signing for packages so I can drive to the post office and pick them up.

I am not renewing my lease here. It is not worth the what you pay in rent. I am really very sad, because this would really be a great place if the management could focus more on safety and customer service and LESS on making sure every apartment is rented. I know it's a business, but they wouldn't have so much turnover if they treated people better, therefore eliminating the need to constantly be away from the apartment office "showing" apartments to future tenants.

The management office is always closed- true. Customer service is bad- I am always on the lookout for a new place when my lease is up. It COULD be an awesome place, but...

This review is very right about alot of things. ONe thing thougth, the strange people walking in the always broken gate ACUTALLY LIVE HERE NOW! No, that's not evacuees or prison inmates, they are your new neighbors, say hello! I've not experienced roaches, mold, high utility bills at all and I change my own filters although i have to buy my own becasue requesting one has taken up to 3 weeks. Parking just plain sucks. If they wanted to really make money and not let the place go to hell, they should up the rent and assign spots. They'd have better, respectable, responsible people living there and they'd have a little more money. The security guard- a joke. I've seen her once. SHe's a hired 'watchdog' in a yellow truck that comes around a couple of times in a 24 hour period. IT HAS NOT STOPPED ANY CRIME AND IT WONT. Put in cameras or something that looks like cameras, do real background checks, require that tenants have a JOB and aren't allowing all of their cousins and homeys to live with them and maybe this place can be restored.
