The Lake Apartments

Decent for singles/couples, no kids From: txrngr34 Date posted: 10/5/2006 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006   Been here almost 2 years now. I like the location, right behind Hwy 6. Management office personnel changed over completely since I first got here, but all of them have been nice, and relatively responsive, also accomodating. Of course, I pay my rent on time, every month. Also, online rent payment, w/o service charges is great! Maintenance-wise, they've been slightly better than average in response, but slightly below average in resolution. First 6 months I was here I had a major issue. They came out once and thought they fixed problem, as did I. Day later, I found out they did not. They came back out again, found something else, and thought it was fixed, as did I. Wrong again. Couple days after that, I noticed it still existsed. Last time they came out, they found out what the root problem was and fixed it, but it took few days for it to completely be resolved. Due to nature of issue, I would have liked a credit for that month's rent, since from date I reported problem initially to when it finally got taken care of was about 3 weeks almost. I did however, get a smaller amount worth of credit. So they worked with me. Other little things here and there have been ok, like getting a new refrigerator when my original one went out, but the new one was missing several pieces to it, like shelves and drawers, etc. Got some pieces, but never got all of them. Whatever, I've managed. Smaller things like busted door knobs and locks have been handled efficiently. Neighbors seem nice, but I'm on the outside corner of a building where I don't have to pass anyone's apt to get to mine. There have been several neighbors move in and out around me. Haven't really had any issues surrounding safety, though I've heard about a few. The kids that hang around the complex are a bit vulgar and rowdy, but not intruding. RECOMMENDATION: For list price, I wouldn't do it. But for what I got it for, great deal. I would recommend it for folks that don't have children. I wouldn't want my kids hangin around outside unattended.
