I loved my apartment so much when I moved in. I mean, who wouldn't'' It has the most beautiful lighthouse out front that just draws you to it. Then you have the staff who show you around - and let you look at the positive. When you are dealing with a brand new complex, you think that you will only have positive. My first mistake.
The inside was beautiful, but when filling out my move in checklist, I started finding very poor built items. It seemed that the more I checked, the worse it got. The apartment was built in an hour. Our cabinet doors just fall off of the hinges! Not once, not twice, not even FIVE times but more!
The bottom floor two bedroom apartments were built very poorly. If you are going to rent there, my advice to you is please go to the second floor or higher. Management office will put you off at every expense to save their pocket. Each time I had a request, they would do a half way job that only lasted a small amount of time. Certain items should have been repaired by REAL repairmen who are knowledgeable in their craft - instead they send their apprentice man out who has limited knowlege of fixing larger ticket items such as air conditioner units. Nails were sticking out of the finishing on the cabinets. It was just terrible.
I followed the advice of one of the other posters and I also encourage everyone else who lives there to do the same. All you have to do is visit your local courthouse -it's public knowledge each time an ambulance/fire truck or policeman is dispatched out. The building next to the 1300 building - on the second floor - someone shot into his apartment from N. Gessner and the bullet went straight through his living room. It's all there, black and white. The police have been out to the complex on so many violent behavior incidents that it frightens me and made me feel that I chose a very unsafe living enviornment for my son.
The management office is extremely uneducated in their field. They have mandatory training often - but it's more of a personality issue more than industry training needed. I made a terrible choice by signing the lease there. They do not keep good records. If you need anything done, please submit it in writing. Do not do anything verbal. Take LOTS of pictures everytime you have something go wrong. That will be your lifesaver in the end. If you have children, hopefully you are reading this. Consider moving - for them. It's completely unsafe there. Management does not report even a 1/3 of what goes on there "criminally". Call your courthouse and pay the $9.00 to get the reports.
