The Retreat is indeed a very beautiful complex. They are brand new apartments situated close to FM 1960. Other than the visual appeal, these apartments offer very little to residents. The apartments themselves have walls so thin that you can literally hear your neighbor watching TV. Another problem is the constant problems with crime. In the past 4 months there has been one aggravated robbery and numerous break-ins according to letters given to the residents. Overall I would have to advise anyone looking at this complex to try to find somewhere else so you don't encounter the numerous problems that the residents seem to be having.

I disagree completely with this statement, it is a great place to live, highly recommended. The walls have R-13 insulation like any other apartment.

I never had a problem... I never heard anything, and I never saw anything. The apartments themselves were safe and beautiful. I'll admit the ghetto wasn't the best place to put such lovely apartment complex but I never encountered any trouble. The only problem I had was the very loud woman who lived next door and never wanted to cut her alarm off on the weekends... Otherwise, A for The Retreat!
