I have been living at Thornbury for 1 year. My experience was bad from the start. I recieved a 4 day notice that my rent was being increased $70.00. I now have 60 days to find a new place to live. I am so baffled as to why the huge increase. As my title states, although listed as such; Thornbury is not a Luxury apartment complex. The back gate (close to where I live) is continually broken open of course. The concrete walkways on all 3 levels are disgustingly dirty and have not been power washed in the year I have been here. A dead bird (there are lots of birds) in the dryer vents, on your balconies, etc. was left dead on the lawn below my balcony for 3 weeks. I happened to see a maintenance man riding by it and asked that he dispose of the bird.
when 'sitting' in my bathroom, I can actually hear the conversation of tenants on the other side of the wall. Maintenance requests take forever to be completed if at all. I recieved a note on my door stating repair was not done because my top lock was on however, they have no problem getting in to read my water meter'''' thru the garage I am sure.
Lights in my halway and on building across from me have been dimly flickering since I moved in. I have reported this to no avail.
When I first moved in the tenants appeared to be employed individuals. The clientele appears to have drastically changed. You do not want to move here.

I wanted to comment on this complex, as I was also a previous tenant. When I moved to Houston, there were high recommendations on this property as the "nicest complex on 'that' side of town". I moved in happily, and enjoyed the 1st 8 months of my 1-year contract. The last 4, I started seeing the changes. There were professionals of all industries living there when I 1st moved in. But towards the end, we had the typical loud bass cars, with 40-ounce beer bottles thrown, and no longer feeling comfortable to walk around the premises. For the rent that Thornbury is asking, they need to start by cleaning up the property- INSIDE as well as out.
