I lived in the Square from July 2006 to June 2007. The management changed around March or April, so I'll only comment on the new management. I didn't really have any maintenance issues during the time, but when it came to move-out the results were mixed. It was extremely difficult to get a hold of the property manager; several calls and visits to the office didn't result in any response. Finally, I must have lucked out and she called a couple of weeks after I began trying to reach her. When it came to move out time though everything was fine, and I wasn't charged anything extra.

As for the units themselves, I lived in a loft unit that only had 1 bedroom, but 1100 square feet. The layout was great, but the place was incredibly energy inefficient. During the summer, the loft was at least 5 degrees warmer than the main floor. During the winter, condensation formed on the inside of the windows and caused mold to grow on the sills. Additionally, the buildings are poorly constructed, and for a while I had neighbors who liked to play their music pretty loud, both late at night and early in the morning.

The area also doesn't feel super safe. One night a few weeks before I moved out, there was a domestic issue in the unit below mine at about 2:30 AM. It involved pounding on windows, yelling, and running outside, and eventually the police came.

As for parking, it used to be fine, with only a few reserved spaces near the back of the complex ($25/month), and everyone just parked in the uncovered spots. Well, the new management has put quite a few more awnings up and began charging for the spots, so now there aren't enough close uncovered parking places.
