If you are all about location then this is the perfect spot but if you are willing to move somewhere outside the loop then I would keep looking. The apartments are cute but they are not worth what they are priced. You are just paying to have a 77027 zip code. One of the ladies in the leasing office lives in the building and she is always coming down on people about being too loud but she is the loudest and drunkest person in the building. She doesnt want to hear other peoples noise but is not bothered when it comes to keeping it down for others. They are pet friendly...everyone has a dog or a cat!!! The building often smells like a dog poung especially in the summer time. I love animals but people had very large dogs for such small apartments and it just smelt horrible in the hall ways. The floor plans have it listed that there is a dining room but there really is no room for a dining room set. Small kitchen and bathrooms. Speaking of bathroom...they have a company come out to resurface the shower so be ready for alot of peeling of paint and mold in the showers. Staff is extra nice when you move in but become very rude when you move in. Don't ever be late on your rent because they will charge you out of this world with extra charges and will not think anything of it...no matter the situation. I was a victim of identity theft and I turned in all of the documentation proving it from my bank and they still never credited me back for all of the charges...and they won't. Extra small pool and poor gym. I don't even think anyone uses it. All in all the only thing I enjoyed about this place is my bed room size and I loved my closet, the location, and the maintenance man...he was always so pleasant. So if you are willing to waste your money just for the convenience of the galleria then this is the place for you. If not keep looking...better deals out there.

Thank you for your candor in your post on March 5th. Sites like these are excellent for consumers to post their feelings when speaking with someone in the office is undesirable. On the downside, however, if residents do not bring matters to our attention and resort to posting their feelings in a forum such as this, it is much more difficult to remedy any situation. I appreciate the compliments about the size of the apartments and the maintenance staff. We pride ourselves on customer service and, as anyone who has lived in an apartment can tell you, solid maintenance is one of the most important services an apartment community can offer. Good maintenance, location, and floorplan size are among the things that make Tree Tops worth every penny. Speaking of pennies, Venterra gives each of its residents a three day grace period for rent payment, after those three days, late fees are assessed, as they are at every apartment community. Late fees exist as encouragement for residents to pay their rent on time.
Concerning the make-ready process, yes our tubs are resurfaced by an outside contractor and if there is a problem, we appreciate being advised so that we can hold the contractor to the same standards of excellence that we strive for. Allegations of mold are taken very seriously and fully investigated; mildew is most commonly misindentified as mold because they do look similar. This is especially true in bathrooms; humidity and steam (lingering moisture) are growth accelerants for mildew. Our adivice to prevent this is to keep your bathroom door open after using the shower to allow proper drying of all areas and facilities in the bathroom.
We are a pet-friendly environment and while I do apologize that your experience with "pet smells" turned you off to the community, our residents have voiced no complaints and thoroughly enjoy the fact that we treat their pets as members of the community. It is very rare to have an apartment office that allows pets into the actual office, let alone has a jar of doggie biscuits awaiting the four-legged visitor.
