I've lived here since Dec. of 2005 and will not be renewing my lease in September. Although I initially loved my apt when I first moved in, my roommate and I quickly realized that the complex is not worth the high rent.
For starters, when we moved in there was mold (a whole lot of mold) all over her bathroom that still hasn't been removed to this day. Other than that maintenance-mess up, the rest of our maintenance requests have been handled in about a week's time.
As for our neighbors, most of them are nice and respectful. Noise is minimal but there are quite a few inconsiderate neighbors who don't feel the need to clean up after their pets. Other than that,I've felt safe coming home late at night- not much crime on our side of Meyer Park. (Lakeside is another story) However, parking is horrible. The only people who know they have a spot are those who pay an extra 50 bucks a month for a garage.
What else can I comment on' Well, the heat/ac works fine, no problem with bugs/rodents, etc., the trash on the other hand is always a problem at the end of the month. I truly don't see a point in paying a trash fee if there's ALWAYS a trash problem!
As for the office staff, most of them have been helpful for the most part. Monique seems to have an attitude at times, but that may just be her personality. I don't like the fact that their bookkeeper isn't organized at all. He/she is the staff person who definitely needs to get their act together.
All in all, it's a pretty nice apartment it's just not worth the price. If you can get in on a REAL special then go for it. Otherwise save your money!
