I lived at Tuscany Gate for 2 yrs, just moved out in August, now I get my move-out check and they deducted $475 from my $500 dollar deposit for carpet replacement! I thought they were responsible for doing that, not charging me for it! and of course, they did not walk the apartment with me, she said they had a commission do that! what the hell!

If you have a choice DO NOT MOVE IN! I have lived in apartments around houston, this is the first time EVER I have not gotten my deposit back! That apartment was IMPECCABLE! and I have dated pictures to prove it! So they better get their act together I am not giving up!!

They did the same thing to me!! They are so full of crap and they make up their own stupid guidelines as they go. They DO NOT have new management. They still have the same management they always did. Nothing has changed over there!!

I would strongly urge you to contact Texas Attorney General. You can find additional information here
http://www.oag.state.tx.us/AG_Publications/txts/ten says in plain English: Normal wear and tear. The landlord may not charge you for normal wear and tear on the premises and may only charge for actual abnormal damage. For example, if the carpet simply becomes more worn because you and your guests walked on it for a year, the landlord may not charge you for a new carpet. If your water bed leaks and the carpet becomes mildewed as a result, you may be charged.

Same thing happened to me. Don't make the mistake of paying a years lease up front. They not only kept my entire $400 deposit but also 3 months rent @ $890 a pop. WHAT MANAGEMENT!!
