WORST APPARTMENT IN HOUSTON

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've stayed at a few places in Houston over the years and generally have not had any problems, that was until i moved into Tuscany and moved out. I had read a few reviews on Tuscany before I moved in and they wasn't that great, but i still thought i'd give it a try because the staff seems really nice (what a fool I was) and the show appartment looked very homely (it must have been the only one on the complex that did). My problems started on the first day, I picked up the keys during my lunch break and went back to work and then returned with my movers, guess what I had only been given the wrong keys and the leasing office that was suppose to close at 6PM had closed at 5.30PM (and no notice was up and the after hours no. did not work), needless to say i was not a happy resident. The moving company I had were so nice to keep my stuff in their truck over night and return the next morning. It gets better the 2nd week my toilet gets blocked, it takes the maintenace guys 2 days to get the problem solved and they make a mess of my bathroom. The appartment complex have this thing where you have to pay them $40 for basic cable and anything extra you get from comcast and pay them, so that means you can't take advantage of any of the comast special offers as you will still be paying the $40 plus whatever Comcast is charging (which includes basic) in fact what ever package you get includes basic so effectively you are paying for basic twice. Oh and by the way if you were to get just basic from Comcast you would be paying $17.99, so where did Tuscany get their $40 from, the $40 is unavoidable if you want cable. Another problem was the garage i was paying about $65 a month for a private garage and on a numbers of times I would find another car parked in there. On one or two occassions I could not get out of the appartment complex because the electric gates would not open, so i had to wait for a car coming in before I could get out. The trash collection was not done on a regular basis so the trash bins would always be full and people would just dump there trash on the floor which attracting rats, also the complex havea serious ---- roach problem which they will not acknowledge. Anyway a year later my lease was up, the year could have come around any faster, I left the appartment spotless, of course the carpet was not exactly the same just the normal wear and tear you would expect in a year, well not according to Tuscany they kept my entire deposit, mainly due to the carpet in additions to some other alledged defects they claim. My advice to any body looking for an appartment, STAY AWAY FROM TUSCANY, it will be a nightmare experience, i just wish i listened to the reviews.
