Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2005
My husband and I lived here for 3 years. The first year we were in a 1 bedroom townhome - moved to a 1 bedroom flat for the other 2 years because our electric bill was on average $200 a month. Yeah, he was a lab tech and I was a student. We really had an extra $200 a month floating around. In the flat it was at least $100 a month.
The management was ok. We had Sylvia at first, and she was OK, then they switched people around and we go the WORST people ever. FInally after 6 months they brought Sylvia back. So everone who is complaining about her - count your blessings. During that horrible 6 months, the people who lived above us in a 1-bedroom townhome were illegal immigrants, there were 6 or 8 of them, and their water heater broke. It was above my closet. They didn't call maintenance because they would get kicked out for having too many people in ther apt. It leaked into the closet while we were out of town for 4 days. I came back to over an inch of standing water in my apartment, with water still pouring out of the light fixture in the closet. When I called mangament, the girl had the audacity to ask me if the light worked, or if the water had stopped it from working. I told her she was more than welcome to come on over and find out for herself. As I was standing in an inch of water. So, after the water was stopped, the carpet got replaced, but the padding didn't. I got mold in my closet. Yes, real mold. They said "Oh, we'll fix it" and painted it with Kilz. This was repainted THREE times. FINALLY after Sylvia came back, the walls were cut out of the closet and replced. My husband and I had to throw away over half of our clothes. Like I said, Lab Tech and Dental Student. Not a ton of money hanging around. We were never reimbursed or prorated anything for that. Thankfully we were in the first couple of years of marriage and didn't have nice furniture.
Derek is the best thing about these apartments. He was kind and hepful, and even through the whole flooding thing tried to help out as much as possible.
But I would NEVER recommend people to live here.
