Vanderbilt

From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/17/2007 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007   I have lived in the Vanderbilt apartments since July 06. Unfortunately I was not able to view the apartment before moving in. Upon the day of my move in it was noted that the carpet needed to be at least cleaned but better replaced, the cabients in the kitchen were horribly worn and needed to be replaced, several outlet covers were missing. Immediately I reported these to management. The carpet was cleaned but is permanenly damaged and worn which cleaning can't rectify. There have been at least 6 different companies out to measure the cabinents but they have not yet been replaced as promised. In Feb 07 they were temporarily covered with contact paper due to family visiting from out of state. Unbelievably management thought this repair was too my satisfaction when told it was not and that I shouldn't have to live with mismatched cabinets I was again promised for the 5th time that the cabinents would be refaced. On April 3, 2007 The manager came to look at the cabients, carpet and a broken window blind that has yellowed and is basically dry rottened from age. She said that the blind could easily be replaced and she would have someone get on top of that 6 weeks later the problem has yet to be remedied. There have been at least 10 car break-ins in the immediate area where I reside. The front and back security gates have been inoperable 95% of the time. These problems have been addressed to the current and previous managers and not one time have any accomodations been offered as far as reduction in rent etc.. The complex needs to be totally renovated and upgraded. Many of the tenants evidently do not care about their living environment nor respect their neighbors. The property probably at one time was a good place to live but under the current circumstances I would not reccomend these apartments to anyone and will not be renewing my less.
