I wish someone had told me how absolutely HORRIBLE this place was before I'd signed a year lease.
The first incident that made me realize I was living in a hellhole' I'd barely been here a month, was eight months pregnant, and was leaving my apartment for groceries when I hear a gunshot from the building next to mine, and see a black male run past. So, that's great, I'm going to bring my newborn baby home to crap like this.
Then a group of maintenance men demand on coming into my apartment to look for some kind of attic, or trap door on my second story. I tell them there is none, please leave. They insist! It's there. Let us in. Basically having no choice, I have five or six men walking around in my bedroom, bathroom, and closet for a few minutes. They then leave, with no explanation. Charming.
Other incidents include: A piece of paper stuck to my door, informing me that my apartment will be entered, with or without my presence or permission, in about 12 hours. When they finally do enter my apartment near the end of the day, they are extremely rude to me.

And as of today, after several calls to the office, I have been waiting for a week to have my sink fixed. I can't use my sink, can't even do dishes, until those rude, unprofessional jackasses get around to having someone invade my living space and get dirt and oil all over my carpet again.

I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS RECOMMEND THIS DISGUSTING, CRIME-INFESTED HELLHOLE TO EVEN MY WORST ENEMY.
I'd rather die than live out the rest of my lease here.

EDIT:
Oh, almost forgot a recent incident.
There's a stray cat in the area that I feed occasionally- he's nearly bone-thin and super-friendly. I just leave a small tupperware container outside my door. After almost two weeks of the container being right outside my door, it was suddenly missing. A neighbor took it or something' No big deal, I put another one out and feed the cat.
(A neighbor across the way from me usually has a container out with tuna or milk or water for him, as well)
The next day there's a knock at my door, and as I'm looking through the peephole, I can see the apartment manager holding my tupperware and stepping over to my neighbor's door to pick theirs up to. When I've got the door open (with the chain on), she starts harassing me about feeding the stray cat, saying she took my last tupperware (never got it back either) and saying that if she 'caught' us feeding the cat again, she would fine us $200., and then started asking repeatedly if I had a cat.
When I said no, she said quite rudely, "It SOUNDS like you have a cat."
I reply, "That's my son." and close the door.
Threats and theft from the manager of the property, I mean.. this place is just incredible, isn't it'
(long winded, I know, sorry. This just particularly irritated me)

p.s. Still having to take my dishes to the bath tub!

I lived there in 2003-2004. That's when I found this site and left a review. I tried to warn everyone. I see nothing has changed since then. You won't get a deposit back either. I almost took legal action against this place, but I didn't have the resources to follow through a law suit.

the manager wouldn't happen to be concepcion would it? she is the reason why my husband and i left the complex at the end of march. i have posted my own review on here and i had several occasions where they entered into my apartment without my permission and they also took over 8 months to fix water damage in my master bedroom. They are trying to claim i owe over 400.00 for the replacement of the carpet for my animals. i found a WAY better complex just down dairy ashford off of whittington if you are looking to move go to the Ashton Park Apartments. I have been here since leaving vanderbilt and i have never looked back. the SECURITY GUARDS here don't play around. they have a 24 hr turn around on any work order and if the gate is broken it is fixed that day. they don't play. it is well worth what i pay to live over here.

Yes, conceptcion or however she spells it is still the manager. She barely seems intelligent enough to work as a staffmember here, much less be in charge. I've never really gotten the impression that she has any idea what she's doing.
