Been at the Ventana for 5 months now, beginning in Dec - thought the Christmas music would never end but it did. The neighborhood is not so good, if you have a pet, it is better to visit the San Jacinto side than the Fannin. A little known fact just to get an idea of the neighborhood, down the street (on Fannin) at the bus stop by the McDonalds (where someone was shot in the parking lot) is where they drop off ppl who get out of jail and have no place to go and on the news about a month ago is where they found a dead body in the street (only a few streets over from Isabella). Lots of undesirables walking around but the best thing to do is ignore ppl that try to talk to you. You will get obscenities but ignore them! My advice is don't walk around at night.

Although the walls are concrete, I can hear the ppl above and below me in my bedroom, I guess through the air vents. The guy below me thinks it's OK to have band practice on the weekends and I wanted to sleep in one Sat but instead sang along to Sweet Child O' Mine. I can hear the person above me run around and hear the phone ring occasionally.

One major problem is the electric bill. For some reason (probably the concrete), no matter how cool it is in the hallways, it is ALWAYS hot in the apt unless you have your air blasting. You pay highly for cool air.

Lots of prank fire alarms (I'd like to know if they're reviewing the tapes and taking action)! The hoodlums think it's OK to wake up people 2-3 times a night. Loud bass played in the garage from inconsiderate people as well and since my bedroom window is on the inside of the complex Im right by the garage. Sometimes the hallways smell because of the garbage compactor not working properly. Usually it is pretty clean. There are some positives though! The apts are the biggest we found anywhere around for the price/security you pay. Bedrooms are huge as well, equipped with garden tubs in the bathroom plus stand-up showers in some models. Free breakfast is provided on Saturdays for residents, there is a decent work out area and an internet/hang out room. The parking is good if you talk to the staff. They get a little confused/don't keep up with the parking assignments so you may have to talk to them a couple of times.

Oh, and a comment about the security for the garage from another review. People DO and can follow you in, security does not run cars down for tailgating. I have even seen cars sitting in the entrance waiting for someone else to pull up and security does not do a thing. While patroling, yes, they do keep an eye out for you. Otherwise, they pick and choose, and seem to discriminate on who they check entering the facility. Even after a car got stolen and they were IDing ppl pulling in, they chose what cars to stop.

Overall you get what you pay for in regards to apt size and an indoor garage.
