Getting Pricey

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
I've lived here starting in spring 2003 and have re-leased through early 2006. There are many great things about this complex: good access to highways and downtown, well-kept grounds, ample non-assigned parking, and the maintenance crew is just awesome about fixing things quickly and efficiently.
Mixed bag on the office staff: I've seen several managers come and go. The current one is fantastic - very friendly, concerned, and responsive. The other office staff have changed, too, but not necessarily for the better.
Another reviewer mentioned the "industrial sized" lawnmowers waking her at 8AM on Wednesdays. This is very very true. There's no way anyone could sleep through that but, in their defense, they chop every stray blade of grass every week.
Definite turn-off: Noise from neighbors. I've drawn 2 consecutive stompers who don't know the words: "tread lightly". I also suspect the current neighbor of having weight equipment in his place; its the only explanation for the heavy thuds at the crack of dawn.
Last thing: The leasing staff are under heavy pressure to jack up rates (initially $100/month but rolled back to $75) so be warned about renewal robbery. Because of this, this lease renewal is my last one.
Summary: Great complex but not as good a value as in the past with so many other choices in the area.
