I've been living here for about 10 months now. Rent is pricey but worth it. A few comments:
Parking: There are always plenty of spaces available, and the spaces themselves are spacious-- I haven't recieved a door ding yet. The covered parking definitely does not keep your car clean, though, and there are some potholes in the lot.
Noise: It's an apartment; there's going to be some noise. The grounds maintanence crew will show up at 8 am on your day off, and the guy next door will turn on his bass-heavy music right when you desperately need a nap, and people will leave their dogs barking on their balconies. But I never have to listen to my neighbors' conversations, TVs, alarm clocks, or coital endeavors, which automatically elevates this place far above any other apartments I've ever lived in.
Safety: Things are going to happen now and then in Houston. My neighbors aren't shady and I don't feel like I have to constantly watch my back or anything, but it's always good to take a few extra precautions-- lock your doors and whatnot.
Houston METRO: The apartments are on Metro route 11, which suffers from two problems: (1) the bus barely ever comes and (2) the route goes nowhere useful. There are some better routes within a mile or two of walking, but overall this is probably not the ideal place to live if you need to take the bus for transportation.
Apartment shuttle to the Texas Medical Center: A great feature on paper. I tried to take it once, and after standing in the rain for 20 minutes I gave up and drove. I don't go to the TMC on a regular basis, though, so I don't know whether my experience was typical or not. g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd
