I lived at Victoria Place for two years, after moving from a sister property, Chelsea Court for over 5 years. When i first moved in March 2006, the property was still managed by Lincoln Porperty, and very well kept. the staff and maintenance were friendly and efficient.
shortly after i moved in the management company changed- and then changed again! the current management has been there about a year and half. Sandy in the office can be nice, if you preffer someone constantly calling you by "honey" and "dear." Personally, i find it disrespectful, i don't know you like that. once, she even got in my face and told me that she would treat me like i chose when i acted like an adult. no one in a position of customer service should act that way.
during the course of my stay there, the hot water boiler would "go out" constantly. the biggest problem i had with this is that i go to the gym after work, and would come home to NO HOT WATER. i could not shower! the management/ maintenance would not 'bother' fixing the problem after hours, but wait until the next day- after i was already at work agian. i frequently drove over 30 miles roundtrip to shower elsewhere. this would happen at most 4-5 times a month. there was no compensation ever made for the inconvienence it caused.
another problem i had was that one afternoon a maintenance man broke a basketball sized hole in my front wondow. the window was borded that thursday afternoon, but not repaired for 5 days. that is ridiculous and unsafe.
lastly, for having cheaper rent, my electricity bills were outrageous. at the least they were over 120, one summer when there was obviously something wrong with tthe internals of my a/c unit, the bills were $220 for about three months. the management passed it off that i was doing too much laundry. c'mon!
i have moved on to a nicer complex with better maintenance. good luck!
