Best complex in the Clear Lake area - in many ways

I'm stunned by the reviews written recently. I've lived at Village on the Lake for one year. I'm about to re-sign for another year without hesitation. Here's why:
1) The management office staff - professional, respectful, efficient, helpful and extremely nice, always.
2) The maintenance staff - the word "exceptional" doesn't do this group justice. Not only are they proficient in their work, they are a joy to be around. When a maintenance issue arises, it is immediatly addressed. They show up prepared and with a positive attitude. They always have a smile and a wave for you if you see them around the complex. Thanks to Luis, Ramsey and other members of the staff for keeping the complex so well-maintained.
3) Security - This was an extremely important factor in determining where I chose to live. I feel very safe at this complex. The officers (and they are police officers, not security guards) are visible, pro-active, accessible and quick to respond to situations that require their attention. Those who come on the complex with ill-intent or those who choose to be a nuisance at the complex, specifically at the pool, can expect to meet a police officer.
3) The grounds - flower beds, green space, trees and shrubs are beautifully maintained. Groundskeeping staff are constantly working on one project or another - watering, changing out flowers or shrubs, trimming and edging. The beauty and quality of the grounds can easily compete with, or beat, the grounds seen in many upscale Clear Lake neighborhoods. The pool and pool area are kept in excellent condition thanks to Felipe. Among many other things, he takes care to arrange lounge chairs just so around the pool so it feels like you are at a resort. He's even there on weekends.
4) Overall aesthetic value of the complex - Building design and exteriors of the complex are well-above most other complexes. Take a look at some of the new "Tuscan" designed complexes in the area. What a joke - plain, dormatory style buildings, huge parking lots, minimal trees, and all surrounded by busy roadways.
I hope this review encourages those who want to live in an exceptional, well-above average complex (in so many ways) to check out Village on the Lake. If you're fortunate enough to become a resident, you won't regret your choice. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

No, I'm not. I'm a current resident not affiliated with the complex. I'm also someone who believes in giving credit where credit is due. I happen to know the names of some of the staff because I've taken the time to ask. Introducing yourself and showing respect by learning someone's name is a nice thing to do. You should try it sometime. It might help counter some of the negative, bitter vibe you seem to possess.

I agree - likely an employee. The complex is a dump. Security is a joke, there is a gate but it's always broken and wide open.
The well maintained grounds? - Right...for people who love to walk amidst trash and debris the grounds are awesome. You have to bring your trash to the front of the complex in your car. It then accumulates in one large dumpster and serves as a breeding ground for rats and possums. I was almost attacked by wild animals one day taking the trash out. There have been several times where a mound of trash grows and grows eventually blocking traffic. Very nice grounds.
"Professional" staff - I guess, if you think professional means you get no return phone calls or updates on issues that you bring up.
I will say that the maintenance staff is the lone area where I wholeheartedly agree. They are awesome, nice and respond fairly quick. But it should be noted that for us to have developed such a great relationship with the maintenance staff means the place is basically falling apart. We had them over a lot.
