good place to live

I am currently living in this apt, and this is my first time actually living by myself- so safety was my No.1 concern. I've been only living here for 6 months, and I don't know how the rest of the complex is like, but at least my apt building is such a nice place to live. My apt building is located right next to the gate, so except for the sound of cars exiting the gate 24/7, the place is very quiet. Unless you put your ear right on the wall, all I hear from the neighbors is just mumbling. I'm a super light-sleeper, so you can trust me on the noise issue.
The safety lights on the outside of the buildings are way too bright. I had to hang extra-thick curtains to block the light, but sometimes i still have problem sleeping because of the brightness of the safety lights. Oh, and these lights attract moths & other insects, so that could be a thing to consider if you are a bug-hater like me.
I only saw 3 small roaches in 6 months in the beginning of the lease. I haven't seen any since I did pest control service.
From what I heard from one of the management office ppl, I think the utility bill is based on the number of ppl living in a household, and I pay about $30 a month.
They do "kind-of-valet-trash pickup service" so you just drop off the trash by the stairs every morning, and the maintenance ppl pick them up around 10am.
I see some cracks on patio floor & wobbly stairway.
I have nothing to say about the management ppl, because i had no problems so far. The only time I go to the office is when I pay my rent and pick up mails. I didn't get to talk to the management ppl since i signed my lease, because i didn't feel the need to contact them. I've emailed them few times regarding big packages shipped to my apt, and they replied within few hours. so i guess they are kind of slow on replying to emails.
Parking was not a problem at all. It is 10:30 pm right now, and I still see about 10 parking spots available in the parking lot.
Oh! One of the best thing I like about the apt is that they take real good care of the gate! Whenever the gate is broken, or left open, they fix it within few hours. I saw one big damage recently on the Gables side gate, but at least they covered it with some materials until they replaced the gate.
Well, I am living in the outer side of the complex, so I don't know what's going on in the other sides of the complex. But so far, the ppl living here are pretty nice, and I haven't seen any thugs or druggies.

Give it some time and you'll start to see it. I use to live in the building next to yours. I thought it was a wonderful place to live but slowly started seeing all kinds of things happen.
As for your utility bill...it use to be anywhere from $14-$16 a month. All of a sudden it jumped to $30. Not to mention the rent goes up very often.

I agree with you on the monetary part. OMG crazy renewal rate! It's just that I recommend this apt based on the quietness & maintenance. I dont see any roaches, no bad neighbors yet, no loud parties yet, so so far I like this complex as long as the money is not a main concern.
