Only live here if you have no job, 10 kids, and FEMA is STILL paying your rent

When I first moved here 2 years ago, the office staff was very helpful. Observing the people around the complex, I could tell that normal, productive members of society lived here. Well...that all started changing the moment I signed my lease. Ever since then, the office staff/manager has changed continuously every few months. When I moved in, the management actually did a credit check and made me bring in proof of my salary. I can guarantee you that is no longer the policy. They let riffraff off the street move in as long as the 10 people who are going to live in one apartment collectively have $100 between them.
The new office staff are just as unprofessional, unhelpful and rude as their predecessors. I don't understand why a person who has (MAYBE) a high school education feels that she can be condescending to everyone who walks through the door. Every time I put in a maintenance request, it takes AT LEAST two calls to make it happen. The office people are so lazy they won't even fill out a simple maintenance order. Then when I try to call the manager to complain, I get blown off every time. Either there is NEVER a manager in the office, or else she just refuses to talk to anyone unless they owe money.
My husband pays for a covered parking spot, and next to him is a broken down Nova that has been unmoved for over 6 months. Every time we try to get it towed, Toya or the manager-of-the-day just blows us off. I doubt that the owners of that piece of trash even live here anymore. There could be a corpse in the trunk, but the office staff is too lazy to get off their duffs and investigate.
Don't even get me started on the quality of the people who live here. Most of them don't even have jobs. Some days I come home for lunch and there are just random scary-looking people roaming the parking lot IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. Then these same people are partying all night long, and of course this complex does not have a security patrol at night to keep the noise down. There is always dog crap on the sidewalk from the woman who lives below us. The pool is open 24/7 for people who want to throw a birthday party for their bratty children and invite over 50 people who scream at the top of their lungs in foreign languages all night long.
DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR PEACE AND QUIET AND DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN FEAR OF BEING BURGLARIZED EVERY DAY.

Very well said! I agree with everything said. I have lived there for 3yrs and have all the same problems! I have never been so happy to move as I am now!! I cant wait to move out next month. What a crap hole of an apartment complex. Oh yeah, someone needs to tell Toya to pull the foot out of her butt and realize that shes really not all that!

I think alot of the niceer complexes have gone to hell in the wake of KATRINA/FEMA!!!! Is there ANYwhere left to live in Houston that's nice and with a better class (and socially cultural) people?

I am not a Katrina victim or a Rita Victim, but how would you feel if your you lost your house your job, your car, your mother, your father, you daughter, you niece and nephew in one day.

Jsherfield1 - you are clueless. First of all, very few people lost their entire family in the wake of Katrina. However, if I lost my house, my job and my car in one day, I can guarantee you this - 1.5 years later I damn sure would have found a job in my new city of residence and I would get off public aid as soon as possible. I would not sit on my ass expecting everyone with a job to contribute to my delinquency. I would not roam the apartment complex by day and throw wild parties by night. I would thank God that I am still alive and strive that much harder to better my situation, rather than depending on the government (i.e. everyone who pays taxes) to provide for me the rest of my life.
