Cheap rent, and then....'!'!'

I lived here for a year and I can honestly say the only thing good about these apartments is their cheap rent. I paid around 730 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath apt, so the price was ok for the location, but everything else wasn't as satisfying. The complex is old and wasted, the paint job is far more than faded, and the parking lot was no better. There was dog poop in some areas of the place, and the swimming pools were never cleaned. Also, after 1/2 year staying there, someone tried stealing my bicycle from the porch, and after I reported it, nothing was done about. I also heard of instances were people were assaulted by the mailing boxes. The apartments facing the street were especially horrendous. It seemed like the ghettoest of ghettos with people outside smoking and drinking all day and night. I definitely did not feel safe when walking tough those parts.
Overall, if you want a very cheap place to live in, and completely not care about anyhting else, this will be the place for you.

You state you lived here from 2006-2007, why would you even comment about a place that you haven't lived at for two years? Things can change in even six months. Phase Two, when I first moved in two years ago, was as you described. However: nearly all those people have been gone for at least six months or more. The pool in my area is cleaned more than I used to clean my own pool at home. Why would you leave your bicycle outside in the first place? It could be stolen no matter where you lived. My building just got a new roof and several other repairs. These things take time to get done, especially with all the damage after Ike. As I stated earlier, I have lived here for two years, in a 2 bdr, 2 ba and I don't pay what you were paying back then. This is even after just recently renewing my lease for another year. The place is quiet, the grounds are clean, great location and a good price.

I am a current resident and I have a bike on my porch and it has never been stolen. I also have it locked up which could have be the reason it is still there...but I always refer back to the saying "keep an honest man honest". Theft and crime happen all over Houston, its just a part of life in the big city. I have never felt endangered or scared to walk through any part of our apartment complex. Just use common sense, travel in groups and dont walk around alone at odd hours of the day.
The pool in my area is constantly being clean...i know this because i am constantly walking by it to going and coming home from work. The dog poo is getting better as new doggie waste stations are being put up on the property. I dont think the parking is bad, you dont get to park right in front of your apartment, but very few apartments let you do that. I am not the most fit person on earth but i hardly think walking 100 yards or less to my apartment is a huge issue.
The rent is cheap and the location is awesome. The apartment is constantly upgrading and it really does just take time. Ever heard the phrase "Rome was not built in a day."

'isay2k' is RIGHT. I have lived here for over 10 years. I am simply waiting until a news channel reports some very serious incident or the number of incidents exceeds that required for the fines to start.
The security keyboard failed about 6 years ago. For 2 years I inquired about the repairs (to Hall Management, the corporate controller - Frisco, Texas)nothing has been done to date. The carport covering over a good part of the assigned parking was completely stripped due to Ike. They have NOT been repaired and many have inquired about them. We keep getting the run around. I believe that constitutes alease violation on their part.
My neighbor (when I had been here only 2 months) had his bike stolen from the patio..so, yes, the conditions that were stated ARE correct!

Anonymous 9/21/09, I apologize that you did not get a response from the Corp. Controller nor did your message get relayed to me. Let me assure you that the carport repairs will be underway in the very near future. As with catastrophies that occur all over, we have had some battles with the insurance company however those issues are in their end stages. You probably have noticed the cleanup was completed within 72 hours after the storm. We completed the roof replacements in the order from the most serious and there are only a few remaining. I will address the issue with the keypad today and will make arrangements to have that issue taken care of as quickly as possible.
