I have lived at Woodlake Oaks for 4 years this time, having moved back after living here once before. The surrounding wooded areas are the biggest attraction for me and I do have a lovely view of the woods. My apartment is large and the rent is very reasonable, so I have stayed for a long time. But there are things that irritate me every day: the mail room is dirty and messy about 99 percent of the time; the "security guards" for the most part don't even look up when you drive through (there is one that does his job and he is great, but the others - one in particular - are basically getting paid to do nothing); when something in my apartment gets repaired, the cosmetics of the repair are unattractive (switch plate being slapped on so the paint doesn't match, folding doors don't stay open all the way in the laundry area). Am giving serious consideration to moving away when my lease is up in 6 months, even though the rent is reasonable. Oh yes, in public areas, doors do not close smoothly so people are constantly letting them slam shut and this is very loud. It's particularly irritating when it wakes you up in the middle of the night. Management does nothing about this. Their attitude is "no, we can't do anything about it" or "why don't you do this and such to fix whatever". If I wanted to fix it myself I'd buy a house.
