What's good is very good... what's bad stinks!

This is really a "hit or miss" community. I LOVE my unit at WOB; the floorplan is really different (and HUGE) and it faces a great landscaped area that has no drive-thru traffic. I have a large private patio. It's quiet and I have professional, mature neighbors. Just across the main road, though, the grounds look terrible and the fences are rotten. There are several different types of buildings on this property, and the ones with wood siding are in deperate need of a coat of paint. Depending on where you live in the community, the stucco-like buildings are covered with green 'stuff'. The complex could be an absolute gem if Richdale would just invest some money in upkeep. A simple powerwashing would do wonders. It's a shame, really. Some sections are just lovely, while others are trashy.
The previous poster mentioned the hot water being out... I have been here almost three years and my water (hot or otherwise) has NEVER been out. I haven't seen any of the sewer problems that have been mentioned, either. Guess those are just more issues that vary depending on where your unit is.
The good news-- everyone I've referred to Woodlake on the Bayou has been shown units that are actually available; you don't have the problem of being shown a model and then finding out you're stuck with a lousy unit/location after you've signed a lease! So make sure you see the unit you will actually rent.. it seems to REALLY matter at this property, and could mean the difference between great apartment living and a nightmare of a rental!
