The same thing happen to me when I asked for my deposit. They would not return my deposit because of carpet damage. About a year ago, the toilet overflowed(not my fault, but theirs) and flooded my whole apartment. They replaced the padding and shampooed the carpet A WEEK AFTER. There were some stains in the carpet that incurred because of this incident. Such as mold. So then they decide to keep my deposit. If you were a new tenant, would you not want a carpet that was clean and had not been flooded, especially not with toilet water' In their right mind they should have replaced the carpet in the first place. I did not request it either because as a full time student and working full time, and by myself, I had no time to move my stuff around so they could replace the carpet. I had to move my stuff, (furniture of top of furniture) so they can shampoo the carpet. So they kept my whole deposit of 350.00. They also raise your rent for a 1 bedroom 50.00 every time you renew. Every single year. I was not surprised they kept my deposit because tenants where moving out like crazy. In my opinion, they decide to keep everyone's deposit since they are not financially doing well. I have never been that kind of tenant that complains or that gives them hell. I also wrote a nice 30 day notice. Out of the subject, I saw two spirits of children in that apartment. but i think they were good spirits because they I dont think they every tried to scare me. Only at first, they would ring the door bell around 2 or 3am. The pet rent is 500.00. The keep 250.00 when you move out.

I moved into WOB on November 1, 2003 and had a dog who was 15 years old at the time. When I moved in I told management that my pet was very old and sickly and I was not sure how much longer she would be around. I kept her gated all the time because she had already lost her eyesight and being in a new apartment I did not want her to harm herself. Well, to make a long story short my dog died ONE WEEK after I moved in. Because she was gated the whole time, she never had any accidents in the apartment or did any damage. BUT THEY STILL KEPT MY PET DEPOSIT. I called Richdale and was told they had to have a "board meeting" to discuss the issue. They never called me back so I called them and was told the "board" decided not to return my pet deposit. How uncaring, and uncompassionate can a person(s) be????
I should have known better than to even move in there because the day of my move my apartment had not been cleaned or painted, and the carpet in the spare bedroom had not been replaced and it was obvious the tenants before me had dogs and they messed in that room. The carpet in that bedroom was shampooed but never replaced. In order to have it replaced, i would have had to move the furniture myself and I am a single woman who lives alone.
Personally, I'm glad ------ is gone. She was only nice to the males she dealt with. She treated the females with disrespect. I have had no problem with the new manager. But will be moving into a house when my lease is up in November.
