Feel free to post the following review anywhere you'd like. Thanks for a really good year. I waited until the last minute to write this. I kept thinking things were bound to change ?? this place was an apartment complex, after all ?? all sizzle, no steak ?? all hat, no cattle. It couldn??t really be as good as it looked. I was wrong. The Oakwood, now Archstone, lived up to its sizzle in every way, start to finish. It looked good from the outside, the prices were very reasonable, and the staff seemed like they understood quality. Ok, we were between houses, we had to live somewhere??so we signed on for a year. Shortly after that, Archstone took over and we thought ??this is probably the beginning of the end??. But things went from good to better. Problems (we had maybe three the whole year) were quickly resolved, after one, that??s (1) call. The staff handled billing issues (we fell in the gap between property owners) as if they were our clients, not Archstone employees. Virtually without exception, Nancy and I were made to feel as if these guys were actually here to make our lives easier. I had almost forgotten how nice that felt. We told ourselves we could pretend it was a resort. Guess what' It is. The lavish pool area looked as great in February as it did in July. The gym (the biggest and best equipped one we found) is actually maintained. What a concept. Hot tub, tanning booths, individual garage parking, REAL barbeque and volleyball courts, security gates with key-ring opener, surprisingly big closets, high ceilings, well kept private walkways and meticulous landscaping, on site storage and a maintenance staff that won??t quit ??you get the idea. If you are dreading apartment life, relax. This place is for you. Skepticism dies hard, and I kept waiting for things to go south. They never did. We did find a house that was exactly right for us, gave our notice, received our deposits back, done??the perfect end to the perfect apartment experience. That??s the best part of this review: I have absolutely nothing to gain ?? we??re gone (but I??m so grateful for a good experience I??m willing to sign my real name).
