I moved here when the complex was owned by Archstone. I do agree with the previous post that the new management here in not as good as the Archstone Management. The gates are always broken and it takes weeks if not months for them to get fixed. When this property was owned by Archstone, they were constantly out there fixing the gates in a day and if it was going to be longer they would send a letter to all the residents letting them know that they had to order parts, etc and that it is being worked on and will be fixed shortly. There is one girl who stayed when Lincoln Properties took over. Her name is Maria and she is extremely nice and helpful. When I am in need of something she is always on top of it and gets my requests fixed in a timely manner. She is the only one I really trust around here. I feel safe for the most part. We did receive letters stating that there were 4 burgerlies and that the IRving police were looking into it. I feel that if the gates were actually working this probably would have never happened. Also, if you have dogs for the most part its a friendly pet community. There are however a few Indian families who absolutely hate dogs and will jump off the trail when you are walking your dog (keep in mind- my dog isn't even 20 lbs and is the most friendliest thing in the world). The staff however is really great with pets and you can take them in the clubhouse when you go in there. My lease is coming up soon and the only reason why I am considering moving is because I will b e getting a new car and will need a garage, but the property wants to charge $100/month for a detached garage, which I think is ridiculous. So we will see. The area is great, the people are great. It's a very quiet complex. Parking is good majority of the time. Gets a little crazy in the summer with the pool, but it definitely liveable. I really don't think there is such a thing as a perfect apartment complex, but I enjoy living here so far and am considering renewing my lease.

I know personally that the management did not alert the Irving Police about the four break-ins.

Whoever knows personally needs to go the Irving Police website and see where the police where notified and a report was taken. I was told that the people that had items stolen did not lock their doors? Ooops! I have lived in Las Colinas since the mid ninetys and found myself not locking mine. I do now.

Why on earth would anyone NOT lock their doors? It's such a simple thing to do to ensure your safety. Seems rather naive to me.
