We've lived here for roughly 4 years and have been happy overall since. However, over the last year and a half it was beginning to turn downhill in the way of tenants and upkeep. There were some problems with car break-ins (my car included) and the occasional apartment being broken into. Our hot water heater started leaking and was replaced, but even after 5 attempts to repair it still leaked.

When Archstone took over the property a few months ago, the changes were evident almost immediately. You can submit your service requests online and receive tracking numbers.They also have a 24 hour guarantee on service requests which is nice. Our hot water heater was replaced and installed properly and even insulated the pipes!

They raised the rent a significant amount when our lease was due, but if it keeps out the undesirables then we're completely cool with it. They're clearly trying to improve this unique property. There's really not too many places like this in the DFW metroplex, let alone Texas. Nobody above you or below you in the 2BR and it's very quiet.

Everyone we've interfaced with in the leasing office has been professional and have really taken it up to the next level as far as taking care of tenants. For example, they now require a sign-in sheet to get to your packages left by FexEx/UPS where Lincoln simply let people just wander in and take what they wanted. I had an expensive package stolen from the office a couple years ago and was just told they're not responsible. Well, no kidding.. but at least offer some sort of assurance that our stuff won't be stolen! I really like that Archstone has the policy to keep packages in a locked room.

We still don't feel 100% safe since the car break-in, but I suppose that could've happened anywhere. In closing, until you buy a house there really isn't a better place to live than here.. It's as close you're going to get to owning your own house.

I'm looking at moving here and was wondering what the noise is like.. things like.. - Do you hear your neighbors through the walls - do the pipes make noises when your neighbor turns them on. - what about street noise, are the windows well sound proofed
