I lived here from 10/05 to 04/06, and although there are nicer apartments out there, I found this place good to accomodate my needs. I was a student at Univ of Dallas and needed someplace close to the campus that was affordable to my college budget. The interior is dated, but everything worked and I never had any problems. I found the apartments to be quiet (I never had a problem with noise); in fact, there seemed to be more noise coming from the adjacent apartment complex. Since it was only myself living there I never had a problem with parking with my assigned covered spot, but I could see how it could be a problem for others without a covered spot (there were times my boyfriend came over and couldn't find a close spot--only at night, however). The new management (Ramona) is very nice and accomodating; when I needed to break my lease due to my pregnancy and subsequent job loss, she was completely understanding and helped to work out a very reasonable payment plan for the reletting fee (which, of course, is unavoidable no matter where you live if you break your lease).

If you're expecting SUPER nice living quarters, then move out to Las Colinas or Valley Ranch (both are still Irving and very nearby), but for a more affordable solution still with decent living quarters, proximity to many things, and an attentive staff, Benchmark is great.

Don't be fooled by the fake positive comments written on this site. We've lived here for six months. During that time the police have come by 5 times to arrest one of our neighbors and the sherrif has come by offering a reward for the capture of one of my neighbers that disapeared a few weeks earlier. Don't be fooled by the fake positive comments written on this site. THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE WILL BE OF NO HELP TO YOU AND THE MAINTENANCE STAFF WON'T COME BY. Oh they will smile and pretend to write down your issues but there will be NO HELP. CAVEAT IMPTOR..... RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
