My painting company used to do work for this complex aug and sep of 2007. I liked painting for them because it was all pretty simple.
It is the beginning of January and they owe me over $8000! I have not received one payment. I have contacted the corporate office and they said they had no record of me doing business with them. I spoke with John (the accountant) and he said that it's hidden because it's been processed, but when I ask for my money he says that it is waiting to be processed. I need to feed my family and pay bills, $8000 is a large amount!
The maintenance guys there are great, Justin, the maintenance manager once told me that they should BULLDOZE the entire complex down because it is SO INFESTED with MOLD! Not to mention that the area the Cabochon has been built on was the old dump for Dallas and Irving, hence the mold and extreme foundation problems!
If you are a possible contractor, cleaner, worker, or tenant of the property, I would highly recommend to to go near the place. Especially if you had a contract signed to be paid on a certain day and they refuse to pay you. Absolutely rediculous! Some people might be happy with where they live, but they may want to look inside their vents.
I went inside a few units, and absolutely astonished I saw MOLD everywhere! I started looking around the kitchen, below the top cabinets was black and grey mold, and above inside and behind the cabinets was the most infested area of mold I have ever seen in my life. I was kind enough to add mildewcide to my paint without asking them about it just so tenants wouldn't have to live with any of that mold.
If people dont know about mold, it is spores. Spores are tiny particles that are easily inhaled just by breathing that can destroy your lungs, give you permanent brain damage, cause chronic bronchitis, learning disabilities, bleeding lungs, and many more extreme health problems.
Go to http://www.inspect-ny.com/sickhouse/mold.htm to see pictures of stachybotrys (black mold) and call the health inspector if you see this. I admit seeing this mold above a few kitchen cabinets and I spoke with Rebecca (one of the managers) about it and she said that they already took care of it and that it should be going away soon. It looks like tiny dirt particles that are black and separated.
