My boyfriend and I went to the Cabochon to view it a couple of weeks ago. We fell in love with the water view apartment they showed us, and the convenient location. We filled out applications, and put a deposit on the apartment. I decided to do some background on our potential new home, and read some of the reviews on here. Wow! It is really disturbing.. the lack of security, the bugs, the staff, the MOLD! After reading all of your reviews we decided we could live without the view and the mold. The funniest thing is that when I went in to tell them we had changed our mind it was like a complete 180. I was very obviously bothering them with my presence, and my request to get my deposit back. I feel like we really avoided something bad here, and I just wanted to let you all know that we appreciate it, and that you have saved at least two.
Good luck with your ordeals, and if you need a good lawyer to try to get out of your lease contact Katrina Anderson @ 214.210.2928.. she is awesome! She actually got me out of my lease at a real nightmare of an apartment complex about 2 yrs ago. They violated their end of the lease by failing to provide adequate security. I contacted her, she had me send a series of certified letters to them outlining my concerns and telling them I would seek legal council. They had a certain amount of time to respond, in which they didn't. In less than two weeks they released me and I got my full deposit back too!

Glad I helped save at least one person a nightmare of a lease. After this week’s mass car burglaries I have decided NOT to renew my lease. As amazing as my apartment is and as amazing as my view is I will not live somewhere that doesn’t take care of its tenants. Bottom line.
Lack of security, mold in apartments, dog crap ALL over what little grass is here, horrible office/management staff, hot tub that is never hot(and it works they are just too cheap to pay to keep the water hot), lack of enforcement on policies(trash and parking are the main ones that come to mind), etc… that list goes on. THIS is what you get when you sign up here at the Cabochon!

Thanks so much for sending out Katrina's information. I plan on calling her and hopefully she can help me too. I'm one of the victims of the car burglaries from last week, and it seems that the apartment management doesn't care and wont do anything about it. Did you see the review on the news about them? I would want to fix it, but I guess they just don't care. I've lived here for 3 years, and now I don't know what I stayed so long. Thanks again for the information. Good luck with your new place!!
