I've lived here since January and I love it. I unfortunately have to move out next month due to a job relocation, but I highly recommend it.
Canal Side Lofts is not designed for 60-year old people. Look at their website and that will tell you the people they target (young urban professionals). As such you should expect a young and vibrant atmostphere (young people party on thursday, friday, and saturday nights...and you might hear some music, so get over it). Regarding the previous comment about the music...I've only heard that once and it was because of one of the apartment-sponsored social events.
By the way, I love the fact that management makes an effort to hold those social events. About twice a month they do some kind of event(pool party, game viewing, luau, something). This has allowed me to meet some cool people in the complex and I've become really good friends with them.
About the comment regarding the pool side apartments: I happen to have a pool side apt and I love it...I love looking into the pool, and the music has never bothered me (again, I only remember this happening once on a Thursday, and once on a Saturday).
Parking is great, and the staff is friendly. Again you will love CSL if you are young and don't mind living in a fun and vibrant atmosphere full of professional people. If every little thing gets on your last nerve, move to a nursing home.
Thanks CSL for a great time in Dallas!
PS: Prices are kinda high! :(

If it's too loud, you're too old.

I certainly don't think 25 is too old and you are just showing your immaturity by saying so. For example -- it is now 2:30AM and loud as hell around the pool. We can hear it over our AC and fans. It shouldn't matter if the offended person is 60 or 25 (like I am), common courtesy just doesn't exist here.
