I have lived at Chaparral Creek for the past year and can't wait to move out! I have lived at several apartment complexes and I have definately seen better. I learned that it is important to view the apartment you are moving into well in advance of your move-in date before signing the lease. When I moved in there was a foul sewage smell eminating from the bathroom area, it took three attempts for them to "fix" the situation. They investigated my kitchen sink and in doing that they dropped the flash light on one of my glasses that was in the sink and broke it and all they had to say was "sorry". Ultimately their solution was to put a small tub of deodorizer behind the toilet and poor water down the A/C condensation drain, um I could have done that!I moved in last summer and well it seems that the smells returns around summer time. Next, I have carpenter ants in my bedroom and I've called twice and all they did was put out ant bait granuals... it didn't work... they don't seem to understand that they need to treat the colony from the inside of the building. So now I have their refuse from eating away the building accumlating on my window sill and floor...I have to clean it every two days its that bad. Now according to my neighbor they are traveling down to his apartment and getting into his dog's food... When I wake up I find them on my bed sheets and when I'm sitting on my couch I look down and see one crawling on me...I've seen them on my front door and to top it off I've been awoken in the night to a bite on my foot. So, like usual I had to fix the issue myself. I have just gotten fed up the inept maintenance staff and decided to deal with it until I move out in the next couple months. I am tired of having to call more than once to get things done properly with this maintenance staff at Chaparral Creek. Not to mention their less than warm demeanor when I have called or gone to the office with a question. The icing on the cake was when they made their offer for lease renewal.. They wanted to increase it by $50 to $80. I'll give them this much they do keep the landscaping nice looking, but at this rate I'd almost rather camp outside than live in the apartment I'm renting. Oh and one plus is that thanks to someone stealing the old equipment they now have new equipment.

Isn't it great that we all have the right to our own opinions? And of course this seems to be a great place to vent. I have had nothing but great experiences here. I love my place, I LOVE the staff (Tonya is the bomb), and every single time I've requested a service of any kind it was performed before I got home that day. It's too bad your experience hasn't been a positive one, but I just wanted to let whoever reads this know that there's always another side to the story.

The grounds are park like. No other complex looks like this one, but unfortunately many of the plants have died and not been replaced. The apartments are very large for this area. But unhappily the buildings and interior amenities are showing their age and the upgrades are of inferior quality. Yes, some of the staff can be quite snippy - sound like they're smiling through gritted teeth. On the other hand the maintenance people do try their best and are always courteous, but sometimes they're not quite up to the task. The new owners seem to be making changes to the services, but it's too soon to tell whether this will be an all over positive or negative. As an example, they're now charging for "at your door" trash pickup which used to be included in your rental and there's no noticeable lowering of rent scales. It will be interesting to see what happens to Chaparral Creek once the proposed new apartments and condos are constructed nearby as proposed by Las Colinas' new massive development project that will be underway during the next few years.

As the author of this review I felt I was been fair and extremely honest. This is what happened to me during my stay at Chaparral Creek and I know for a fact I'm not alone in how I feel about this property. What I experienced was unacceptable. It just so happens that within the company I work for there is a Geotechnical Engineer who I mentioned where I lived and the problems I was having and he stated that he had worked on the property in the past and although the set up is nice it is a very poorly constructed property. Case in point, my down stairs neighbor has/had a hugh crack in the hallway of his apartment and then on the outside you could see a very prominent 1-2 inch crack on the outside of the building. Other little asthetics include but are not limited to chipped or peeling paint on the railing and the cable box that was never properly closed/locked so all the wires were exposed to the elements and view of quests.
