look out for the long term neighbors

I have been here for a year now, my lease renewel is at hand and I ABSOLUTLY WILL NOT be renewing my lease. The light bills are ungodly, any time of the year. That may have something to do with the ability to see sunlight around the exterior doors when they are closed, and the heat and/or cold coming through around the windows when they are closed. Nothing a little insulation won't take care of, but good luck with that. Yes, the maintenance people are very nice, but the office personnel are rude, indifferent and generally "put out" if you need something.
Now.......let's talk about the neighbors. If you live here, you will KNOW who I'm talking about. My downstairs neighbor is a complete ---. He is a bully and likes to try and intimdate people by coming to your door and banging on it like he's going to break it down, to tell you you are too loud at ANY hour of the day. Being thrown back DOWN the stairs by my 17 year old son cured him of the urge to come back up and bang on my door complaining, however now he has taken to telling anyone on the grounds who will listen that I am dealing drugs out of my apartment. What a bone head! His girlfriend is fond of flinging open the front door as you come down the exterior stairs and screaming about how loud you are walking down the stairs. I've complained to the management about their constant harrassment and asked to be transferred, to which I was told there would be a significant fee to me for that and to just call the -------- (the "security" guy) if they/he bothers me, because "..he's been a resident so long, -------- knows how to deal with him". Nice. So i guess I'm not the only one who has been subjected to this idiot's hissy fits! They have determined the common grounds outside their patio is their private back yard so they chain their dog out there during the day on weekends, making it difficult at best for any other dog to go out and do his business. They fight like cats and dogs when they drink and their "make up sex" is undeniable...she's a moaner! The propery is pretty (I know why where my rent $$ goes), the parking SUCKS, management is rude and I'd rather live in a shack than put up with the guy downstairs. If you're looking to move here, stay away from BOB...everyone know's who he is, request a unit far far away from him....

I wish I would have read this before I moved in. Chaparral Creek sucks. The women in the leasing office are mean-spirited and probably hate working here but can't get hired anywhere else so they take out their anger on tenants. Electricity bills are sky-high although the lady who leased me the place said it would NEVER be over $150 for the lofts...HA!!!! Expect $200 a month in electric bills due to poor insulation and old A/C units. LOUD A/C, get earplugs if you like to sleep without sudden loud repetitive buzzing noises throughout the night.
