I pretty much grew up in these apartments, and the overall experience was good. I lived in another section of the apartments in the beginning, and the roaches were a nightmare. After that however, I lived in a much better section of the complex. I rarely saw a bug there, and that was great! Maintenance was quick to respond for problems, and did their best to fix them as quickly as possible. The apartments were very quiet for the most part. Everyone there gets free covered parking, which is great. Most places charge for it these days, but The Colony Apartments do not. It may not be the most attractive covered parking, but it works! I wish the apartment I am in now had it, so that I would have not had the hail damage I had this year. The location of these apartments is great for anyone that has kids because they are close to 3 different schools. Management there was always great, and has had the same manager for many years now. The great manager there has continued to take great care of the people that I know that still live there. There are not a lot of choices there in that part of Irving, but I recommend The Colony Apartments to someone who wants to live in that area. I dealt with several bad neighbors in the time I lived there, but that can be expected from any apartment complex you live in. It was in no fault of the apartment complex. In fact, I now live in a very nice part of Irving, but I have the worst neighbors one could ever dream of. As far as The Colony Apartments though, they are ok. If they had washer/dryer connections, I would definately move back. It is a good value for the money.
