good and bad

The good is that the staff was very professional. When I had a problem, they fixed it. When I had to leave early, they told me exactly how much it would cost before I left and I even got money back from my deposit. The bad part is the neighborhood, which is something the apartment can't really do anything about anyways. My first car was stolen. I think that is a Dallas area problem. Also, there was a truck with an alarm that would go off about every 5 minutes on Saturday morning. Oh yeah, and some woman forgot to lock her door and ended up being assaulted. So I guess as long as you lock your doors you are alright, not that assault is ever permissible. However, there were also some very good neighbors. One time when my car was flat, this nice neighbor fixed it for me. When it iced over, this lady on her way to work offered to help me take the ice off my car. Most of my neighbors said hi to me. The people who were actually the least friendly to me were white. Racism is just a big problem in Dallas overall, nobody really trusts anybody of the other race. There is a big ghetto mentality and I encountered that a lot living in Eagle Crest. People couldn't believe I was living in a black neighborhood. Frankly, they were the friendliest people around and I was glad to have them for neighbors. If you are bothered by your community, the best solution is to become a part of it.
