Living at Eagle Crest Apartments should be considered a punishment, and I d repent if I only knew what I did that was so wrong. The apartments are very poorly made, the maintenance men do NOT know what they re doing, the staff is unbelievably rude and will flat out insult you, and it is an all around horrible place to live.
First I ll start with the apartment itself. There s a nice new coat of paint covering the crap so that your first instinct is, ok, this looks nice. So you look through the apartment and realize that the actual layout.
It seems ok at first until you realize there are only 2 cable outlets in the room and no phone jacks at all. It wouldn t be bad if they had 2 cable outlets that both worked and were set on 2 opposite sides of the room, but no, the cable outlets are side by side. Unless you want a big black cable running through your living room, you pretty much have only one option, put the TV directly in front of the fireplace, or block off the entire bar if you happen to be someone who likes a couch in their living room.
The rooms are small, and the bathrooms are terrible. If you have the master bathroom, you have a long stretched out bathroom, and if you re not in the master bathroom, you re in a coat closet with a toilet.
Hardwood floors, or should I say crappy tiles that look like hardwood until the layer of wax comes off and then it just feels gross on your feet line almost every part of the apartment. If you like walking around barefoot, watch out for carpet nails I ve lost a lot of blood at Eagle Crest (I guess it s their trick to keep your deposit they just replace the blood stained carpets). And be careful not to touch the walls to hard or you ll break them. It really doesn t take much pressure at all.
Eagle Crest does allow pets, but they ll charge you for Pet Litter claiming someone saw you let the animal crap and you didn t pick it up. If you refute, they will literally call you a liar and charge you again. I guess that $500 pet deposit wasn t enough money for them.
The maintenance men will half ass EVERYTHING! We ve gone for nearly 7 months now with no door knob on the master bedroom from when they came to repaint the door (all of the paint on the door fell off in one big sheet). We ve called several times but they refuse to come out.
We ve had several leaks in the apartment and they will come out and say it s fixed, but the next day, it will leak again. The kitchen sink has been leaking for nearly a month without any repairs made. They say they ll send someone over every time.
And don t get me started on the black outs. We ve have 7 black outs in the last 3-4 months causing me to be late to work/school several times. The cable, internet, and phone lines were knocked out by someone in maintenance and the complex never called Time Warner to fix the issue. It took 9 days for them to get phone, internet, and cable back.
All of the above I could have lived with. Managing an apartment is not easy. But what will really set you on edge is that the management will lie to you, insult you, and act ruder to you than anyone you ve ever met. If you happen to be or look young (college age or so), they will treat you like a criminal. They will accuse you of disturbing your neighbors by throwing parties (somehow between working 50 hours a week and going to school for nearly 20), accuse your harassment, and make outrageous claims about your character.
As a general example of their attitude, the polite letter reminding you of an over due balance or of a utility fee that is due, has been replaced with a legal eviction notice. Literally if you re a day late on rent they will come into your home and tape an eviction notice to your wall. If you happen to be home when they come to deliver the letter, prepare to be talked down to condescendingly by a moron on an ego trip. Literally the way they treat you is completely unexpected, not only as a company treating a customer, but as a human being treating another human being.
Do not move into Eagle Crest Apartments. You will regret every day that you re there, and will feel so trapped knowing that your rent money is paying them to treat you as badly as they do.

I've lived at Eagle Crest for 2 months and have yet to experience any of these problems. Maybe because I do pay my rent on time? Try it and you won't have to be so miserable.

Amen whatever!!! I don't believe a word you are saying. The office could not refuse to come out to your apartment and fix anything!! You could call corporate! And if you are not picking up your pet's crap than you deserve to be fined. Maybe the maintance could get around to you more if they wern't doing your dirty work all day! Second off the office staff is not rude! At least to people who pay their bills on time! You would be rude to somone who didn't pay you your money on time. Maintanance came out to my apartment at midnight one time to fix a leak. So don't even try to lie about that! They are very nice and knowledable! I have lived here a long time and only had one black out do to weather! Who are you trying to fool? Sounds like you need to go back home and live with mommy and daddy since you are scared of the dark and can't pay your bills kid!
