I Also Have Mixed Feelings

I have some pros and cons about Eagle Crest. I moved here from another state and I took a big chance moving into the apartments without viewing it. I have a 1 bedroom a little over 700 sq feet and I love the way the apartment looks. The office staff was very friendly and helpful (sometimes). The makeover they advertise is not as great as they make it out to be. I do have brand new appliances but the rest is really just a touch up of paint and shelves. You can actually see some of the dust in the corners of the walls that was just painted over. It's pretty quiet around and I don't see a lot of people hanging around the parking lots. The problems are the hot water. They are on a boiler system here. Sometimes it was taking close to 20 minutes to get hot water in the shower. The maintenance man said the peaks hours are 7am-9am and it takes awhile for the water to heat. I have tried to take showers in the early evening and still have to wait. Since we have to pay for water and gas here I am not too happy having to wait that long for hot water. I live on the first floor and still had a leak in the ceiling when we had heavy rain (still not sure how that happened). Now that it is getting hot I found the air conditioning is not working well. I have had 2 service requests and the maintenance does not seem to find anything wrong. You have to pay $15 for your security gate key and $5 for a card to use the laundry services. My last issue is even though I mentioned the staff was pretty decent, I did find that once I complained about my neighbor's loud, barking dog and requested a transfer I did not receive a response. I did not continue to complain cause I would only made myself more upset. So now with about 4 months left on my lease I have to decided that paying close to $700/mo for a 1 bedroom with no hot water and poor air conditioning is not worth it. I lived in another apartment in Irving for $400/mo it was as little noisier and it was not the best designed apartment, but I regret paying the extra $300/mo moving here just for some new appliances and paint.

I would say the previous poster is incorrect. Since I have been here since May, ALL my requests have been taken care of usually the same day or the next day. They have taken care of music playing to loud, replacing lights, putting out doggie bags, fixing A/C, and anything else asked of them.
After seeing quite a bit of apartments in Irving, this is probably the best unless you want to spend $400 more a month.
