I must've been drunk when I signed the lease.....

I was excited when I first moved into an apartment at The Enclave, because I was getting a good deal on a townhome with much more square footage than the apartment I previously had. But there were red flags from the jump, which I should've paid attention to. First off, I was told that there would be cable on BOTH floors of the apartment, and was even shown a model with cable on both floors. When I moved in......guess who ended up spending money on supplies to install cable on the 2nd floor' Me! I went around in circles between management, who didn't want to take responsibility for this mistake, and Time Warner, who stated that they don't install cable in apartments and told me to hire a contractor so they wouldn't be responsible for any damages. I did it myself, splitting the cable on the first floor and running it upstairs, although management did reimburse me.

Second issue -- the weather stripping on the door. There wasn't any, and through many rains, water crept underneath the door, wetting the entire interior entrance of the apartment, including the carpet. This was reported numerous times, and when they finally said they'd fix it, they STILL didn't show up. When I went to the office again and complained, they then said they needed to order parts! Ridiculous. It got "fixed" a month following the last complaint, only to still have water coming underneath the door.

Finally (this was a very huge issue that I raised hell over), the water. It sucked. While taking a shower, the water might be normal for a minute or two, then suddenly, it turned ice cold. Then, shortly after, with no lukewarm transition, hot water starts spewing out! This made showers dreadful. They promptly responded to my first complaint, only coming in to assess the temperature. Then after that, they began stalling me with excuses, from "parts are on order" to "we're having the city check the plumbing" to "bids are being taken on fixing the plumbing." This has gone one nearly the entire lease term. They know me by name because of this issue. I found out a couple of months ago that several tenants are experiencing water issues, but for some reason or another, are choosing to tolerate it instead of voicing their concerns. Even a member of the management staff told me that her apartment has this issue, but won't say anything about a fix. Also, I've written the Dallas Tenants Association, because properly running water is one of the most basic "amenities" that comes with an apartment. This issue is now under investigation.

I don't recommend this property to any future tenants.
