I was living here until Febuary when I lost my job due to layoff. I informed the office when it happened and feared I would have to relocate and break my lease due to the type work that I do. The assured me that they would work with me. I finally found a job out of state and moved. When I did they sent me a ten thousand dollar bill. (10,000.00) that included so many bogus charges that it was actually funny. Believe me when I tell you I left the apartment in tip top shape. I had family come in from out of town and help make sure that every inch was clean. The damage list was unbelieveable. Then they tacked on an endless amount of charges for breaking the lease. I called and asked if this was for real. I would agree to pay a re-letting fee of some type but this was ridiculous. The girl I spoke with took my information and told me that she would see what could be done and the manager would send me new figures. Next thing I know, they have put the 10,000.00 collection on my credit report. Endless calls gets me know where. This type business practice should be illegal. This place cares only about making money. Don't Move Here... Run as fast as you can!!!!

You did break the lease! Regardless of how much you and your family cleaned, you did break the lease. I hate that you got the bill but what did you expect? What company is not put here to make money? You, me and everyone that I know is about money so don't knock the management!

I hate to say this, but this response is correct. I am a current resident and yes i have had problems with them, but the new management and i mean the new manager and assistant manager from Gardens not Amli are Really awesome. I had pure h#ll with the old management but Ellen is awesome and she will work with you on your charges. However, you broke your lease. unfortunately they cannot accomidate everyone who has some type of emergency or needs to break due to jobs, if they did heck everyone would always get out of their lease and our rent would be ten times higher..you have to give them a little bit of room here. I do think its wrong about them putting it on your credit but you never told us how long of a time frame you are speaking of. Sorry i side with The Gardens on this one!

Isn't it a shame that as the nation goes through the worst crisis in our time, that we offer assistance to those that are foreclosing on homes but we can't offer assistance to someone who loses their job and can't pay the rent? At least this person wants to go elsewhere and find work and not live off the state. Jeeze I think the person knows they broke their lease, but is there no compassion for their plight? Anon # 1 really seems to be one hard cookie, and so wrong that "everybody or everything" is about money. Sometimes it is about doing the right thing by people. Sometimes really bad stuff happens to really good people. Sorry for you the bad luck. I say the tenant here deserves a break. Good Luck!
