I cannot begin to say how terrible my experice at Hillcrest was. I moved there in January and decided a month a go to just pay out my lease and move early to a nice, luxury complex (Dakota Hill).

They look nice from the outside, but they are falling apart. When I moved in, my oven was broken. A week after I reported it, they tried to fix it for the first time. It didn't work. They tried again a couple of days later. One month after I reported it, they finally replaced the oven.

Around the same time, a rat moved in. When I told the manager (a very slow witted woman with few redeeming qualities) she stared at me for a minute and then said, "A rat'" like she'd never heard of such a thing before. They set out traps for the rat but didn't do further extermination.

Also, I have been harrassed by my downstairs neighbor on three separate occasions documented by the police and the person was not given a warning or evicted. Instead, the management told me that he'd rented there longer than me and that he had called the police on me and they thought I was at fault. How can I be at fault when I'm being yelled at and threatened and am fearing for my safety'

The manager also hosted a party where they were playing music so loud that the only room in my apt. where the noise was not clearly and loudly audible was the bathroom. There are city codes against that kind of noise on a 24hr basis in Irving, all of which she chose to ignore, and could not believe that I called the police to get the noise stopped.

The only person who is half way considerate there is Marissa, the other girl is a moron. She lost my 60 day notice and I got charged for 16 days extra because of her. The maintenance team does not leave behind a copy of your work order if they enter your apartment or notice that they entered at all, which violates TAA stadards and guidelines. In one case, I KNOW they entered my apartment because lights I never use were on when I returned from work and yet they denied ever entering the apartment. You cannot trust that these people will not steal your things with that kind of behavior.

Also, they do not regulate the hours on the pool and I've caught people having sex in the pool on more occasions than I'd like to remember. If it isn't that, it's yelling and splashing. I call the courtesy patrol at least twice a week about this.

I am terrified of my living conditions and untrustworthy neighbors. Do yourself a favor and refuse to rent here. Move somewhere safe and quite, or you will be very sorry.
