When I decided to move out of my parents' home into my first apartment, Huntington Ridge was the first and only place I looked. The staffperson who spoke with me and gave me a tour was very nice and understanding.
I was impressed with the example apartment they show prospective renters and the landscaping and building were both well kept. While I filled out my application, I noticed that every person who walked into the office, even if they were just passing through to the workout room was greeted warmly by office staff and sometimes chatted up for a few minutes. Also, I received a 5% discount just for being an employee of a city (not even Irving).
After I was approved I called to ask if I could come see the actual apartment I'd be moving into and they simply handed me the key and let me look by myself (I'd already been on a tour, but wanted to see *my* apartment before I signed a lease). There was no sign of previous residents, the apartment was very clean and well kept. Moving in was not a big hassle at all.
I am going to be moving out after six months but I am very happy with the time I spent here. The water was off for two hours (for maintainance) during the afternoon while I was at work. Twice pest control has come, and the lawns are tended every Friday. About the only downside I've experienced here is the neighbor who lived above me for a while was pretty heavy- footed, and drove me nuts walking around all the time, and generally not caring about how many things he clamoured around. Obviously, he could live at any apartment complex.
If you made it all the way to the bottom here, I'll remind you that this complex was a good place to live. As I'm relocating to another city, I'm trying to find a place that made me just as content as HR.
