Questionable start
Well, I searched a list of apartments that were given to me by an apartment locator service on Apartmentratings.com. I was looking for decently priced apartments with high overall rating and I stumbled upon this one. Which at the time was 86%. I needed to find an apartment that I could move in to before my current lease was up. This left very limited options for apartments to choose from. I was told there was an apartment that was almost ready for leasing. They were cleaning the carpet that day and I could start moving in the next day and they would not charge me for the few days of the month that I was using to moving in early. I signed a lease and picked up my keys the following day.
When I went to the apartment for the first time. There were cracks on several walls, stains on the carpet that was supposed to have been cleaned the previous day and purple stains on the walls. I went to the office to ask them to fix the problems. There was an older --------American woman, talking to one of the leasing agents. She said she had received permission to move in early but they were charging her for the extra time. As much as I like to believe discrimination is no longer an issue in America, it sometimes shows it dirty face. It is really sad, at least for me, when you see someone being discriminated against.
I asked if they could repair the apartment and take care of the stains before I moved in and they said it would be taken care of. They did fix the issues and 5 days after I was supposed to move in.
A few days letter, I get a letter on my door stating that I owed for electricity that I used prior to my electric company taking over service. It did take some time for my electric company to switch over services. This normally would not be a problem however; they were trying to charge me for their connection fee and for days that I was not occupying the apartment. I brought the fact that the apartment was in a shoddy state and asked the leasing agent if they normally lease apartments in this condition and she said, Yes . I told her that was scary.
We will see how the rest of my lease goes.

I work at Huntington Ridge and to say that we are in any way discriminating against anyone is not only a lie but harmful. Specials change on a daily basis and with changing specials comes different ways of payment. Just because you received a couple of days free of charge does not mean that someone else did not get a great special as well.
As for your apartment, we have every apartment professionally made ready, cleaned, painted, carpets cleaned or replaced. If at any time someone is not happy with something in the apartment all they have to do is report it. When you did report the problems we responded within 24 hours to every concern you had.
I am very upset that someone that moved in to Huntington Ridge feels this way about our great community. The office and maintenance staff is always here to help each resident. Please come to the office as soon as possible to discuss any issue you may have.

Huntington Ridge is full of crap. My apartment was also in a crapy conditon when I moved in and they refused to change dirty nasty, dingy blinds. The cabinets are scratched up, the vents were covered with mildew (which still blows out over the refrigerator), and the paint on the tub is still peeling. The air condition was leaking over the tub. Also, the tile grout is cracked up and gets all over the floor. All of these things were listed on my move in report along with a letter to fix these items and many of them were ignored. Also, the manager, Nicole, seems bipolar because she acts as if you are bothering her when you walk into the office until you hand her your rent check. Then her attitude and demeanor changes and she becomes conversational. What a fake! These apartments are in need of a massive inside renovation and updating. Also, the kitchen is really small even in the large floor plans, there is not enough counter space. They always have specials for a reason b/c no one would pay market value for these crappy apartments. I think they made up that number up anyway. Also if their make ready is a professional job, they need to hire another company b/c they are horrible.
My advice is to not lease here unless you can see the apartment you are getting before you sign the lease. Once you sign the lease, they do not care until it's time to renew a lease. If you are looking for quality, there are to many other communities on this street that have been upgraded and are the same price or cheaper than this one.
Also, only one or two items actually work in the so-called state of the art fitness center. The fire escapes are another unsafe outdated feature. If you look at other CNC Investment properties in the area, it is obvious that they are only interested in collecting rent and not putting money into their properities and residents. They all look like crap.

Hi,
Do you mind updating your review?
You mentioned you'd see how it go.
Do you still live there? Has it gotten better or worse from your initial review?
Thank you.
