My roommate and I moved here in 2003. Since then, the apartment complex has been in a rapid state of decline. The dumpsters are constantly full, and there is lots of loud music in the parking lot. The mailboxes were broken into recently, apparently by people looking for social security checks. A covered parking structure was damaged and has never been repaired. A lamp post was vandalized, and it was months before it was repaired. The complex was built in the early eighties, and the appliances have never been updated. The phone jack in my roommates' room doesn't work. The carpets were not replaced before nor were the walls painted before we moved in. The dishwasher broke and flooded our kitchen and the apartment below. The air conditioning unit is always on the fritz, especially during the summer, and there is hardly any attic insulation. My bedroom is always hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Electric bills with TXU and average billing range from $250 to $300 a month. The management makes a lot of errors. My roommate bought a new car. He bought it home after the office had closed for the night. He didn't get a chance to get a parking sticker. Yep, you guessed it. The very first night he bought his new car home, his car got towed! Yet other guys have sat in the parking lots for months. Some are wrecked or have 4 flat tires, but as long as they have a parking lot sticker, they aren't towed. For two months after we signed a new lease, we got a note from the office stating that we did not pay enough rent. For two months in a row, my roommate had to take a copy of the lease agreement to the office and show them that we paid the correct amount. The final nail in the coffin happened today. I get home from work, and there is an eviction notice on my front door. My roommate and I have never paid our rent late once in five years. I clearly remember my roommate making a trip to the apartment office on the first to the apartment office to pay the rent. Well, they lost the checks, and instead of putting a note on the door that explains their error or giving us a call, they put an eviction notice on our door. They want to punish us for their mistake. I'll deal with their mistake, but I'm not going to sign another lease, and I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
